Mrunal Thakur on winning Best Actor for Hi Nanna at IIFA Utsavam: Deeply grateful

Actor Mrunal Thakur took home the prestigious Best Actor award at the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Utsavam for her performance as Yashna/ Varsha in the Telugu film, Hi Nanna.
“I am deeply grateful for this recognition,” Mrunal expressed in a statement. “Playing Yashna was a truly fulfilling experience that allowed me to explore the depths of love and emotion. I owe this achievement to my incredible director, talented co-stars, and the entire team whose unwavering support made this possible.”
Mrunal attributed the award to the collective efforts of the film’s cast and crew. “This award is not just mine; it reflects our collective hard work and dedication to storytelling. I’m excited to continue this journey and share more meaningful stories with my audience.”

This marks Mrunal’s first-ever IIFA award, and she expressed her humility at sharing the honour alongside esteemed actors Rani Mukerji, who won in the Hindi category, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who took home the award in Tamil.
“This is my first ever IIFA award, and it’s a special win to be sharing this award alongside such incredible actors like Rani ma’am who won in Hindi, Aishwarya ma’am who won in Tamil. This honour is truly made special owing to this,” Mrunal added.
‘Hi Nanna’ was directed by Shouryuv, who made a directorial debut in Telugu cinema with this movie. The film also features Kiara Khanna, Priyadarshi Pulikonda, Angad Bedi, Jayaram and Viraj Ashwin in pivotal roles.
