Description
Up for sale is a socketed PR4 ECU for a manual transmission 1990 Integra. The EEprom socket and datalogging connector have been soldered in place, and the case has been notched for the datalogger cable (not included). I am including a reflashable chip, that has the stock PR4 ignition/fuel maps, launch control (set to 4000 RPM) and data-logging enabled. This ECU will work with most MPFI non-Vtec OBD0 engines, but will require a modified chip for anything other than a stock B18A1. The 1990 Integra ECU is different than the 1991 ECU in that it needed an external PA (atmospheric pressure) sensor, whereas the 1991 ECU had the PA sensor mounted inside the ECU. If your vehicle has a PA sensor mounted on the body (up behind the glove box) then this is the correct ECU. If you need an ECU for a 1991 Integra, see my other auctions for that ECU.OTHER OPTIONS
If you would like something other than what is listed above, let me know. I can also:
-Enable a Shift light, user specified RPM,
-Enable the speed limiter, user specified speed (default is speed limiter off)
-Rev Limiter (within reason and at user's risk)
-Launch Control RPM, user specified
-Stock tunings for alternate engines (D16A1, ZC DOHC)
If you do select the shift light, the check engine light will no longer alert the driver of an engine fault. However, the LED inside the ECU, will still flash out the failure codes. ABOUT ME
I am an automotive engineer by trade, and have spent the last 24 years working with automotive electronics. Rest assured, this ECU has been modified with the utmost concern for quality, and has been thoroughly tested. I have also raced Honda's for the last 26 years in SCCA Solo events.
CORE
I do not require a core, but I will refund if you send me your functional 1990-1991 PR4 ECU. The core must be received within 45 days after the initial purchase.
SHIPPING
The shipping price in the listing is for the continental U.S., all other locations will pay actual shipping charges.
DATA LOGGING CABLE
If you want to collect data from the ECU you will need to purchase a data logging cable (-35, from a number of retailers) and download software, to a compatible laptop computer (have a look at: sites.google.com/site/tunerexpress/).
COMPATIBILITY/DISCLAIMER
The buyer needs to insure that this item is compatible with their vehicle. The buyer also assumes all responsibility for all damage and/or personal injury, and that this modification is compliant with all laws and ordinances. Hence it is assumed that this ECU will be used for "Off Highway Use Only".
The chip I provide with this socketed ECU, has the stock PR4 fuel/ignition settings. So there will be no HP/torque increase over the stock chip. Without knowing your individual modifications (cam, intake/exhaust manifold, compression ratio, injector size...), I can not safely provide a chip that optimizes performance. This socketed ECU, is the first step in increasing the performance of your engine. I have already done the tricky part of unsoldering the stock chip and soldered in a "socket" that allows you to interchange the chip of your choosing. The process of unsoldering the stock chip requires experience and the right equipment. Otherwise it is very easy to do permanent damage to the ECU. The best method to improving the performance to your car, is to buy this ECU and have your vehicle tuned on a dyno, with a wideband O2 sensor, by an experienced engine tuner. Another option, is to take your chances with an off the shelf or "basemap" chip. But beware, at best, these eBay "chips" will not give you any real performance improvement. At worst, they will cause damage to your engine. That is why I don't make an attempt, or claims, to improving performance over stock.
The ECU in the photos are for reference, and may not be the actual one your receive.
RETURNS
Accepting returns on automotive electronics is always risky, that is why most auto parts stores do not do it. I test every ECU before I send it out, and have every confidence that it is working perfectly. If you are not satisfied with the ECU you can send it back within 14 days, for any reason. When I receive a returned ECU, I will re-test it, if it still works, I will refund your money (less shipping). If it does not work, I will have to assume that something in your vehicle killed it and can not refund your money.
