FINE PAIR EARLY 18TH C FRENCH SILVERED BRONZE SCALLOP BASE CANDLESTICKS C 1720

Description

Super nice pair of antique French silvered brass scalloped octagonal base candlestick, circa 1690-1720.  The 8-sided bases are stepped above a scalloped outline and there is a circular depression at the stems.  They sit flat and straight and have no damage or repair and are in excellent condition (any lean in the photos is due to me and not them).  Nice early French candlesticks.
The silver is also in excellent condition and shows no wear-through though there is a hint of brass color glowing through evenly.  Really attractive candlesticks with nice even patina and coloration.  There are signs of scraping underneath the base, a characteristic of early candlesticks.
