DESCRIPTION:
International Silver Co. Soldered Silverplate Coffee PotVintage 1948"Kirkeby Hotels" on front.
Dimensions: 7" wide x 6" tall 10 oz capacity
This silver coffee pot would have been used to serve coffee (or tea) to patrons and guests in the hotel's dining rooms, restaurant, or for room service in the most elegant manner.
It is the heavyweight type steamship, restaurant and railroad silverplate.
The spout and handle have ornate and elegant detailing. it has light usage scratches commensurate with its age.
It was made by International Silver Co., is silver soldered.
The Gotham and the catalog number 05062 stamped on the bottom.
Patent 1637853.
Arnold Kirkeby was the founder of the Kirkeby Hotel chain, beginning in Chicago with the Drake Hotel,
and ending his hotel interests when he sold the
Beverly Wilshire in Beverly Hills
, CA.
